Case Study
Root excavation oversight and barrier checks across a multi-stage build.
A multi-stage build ran inside the tree protection zones of retained trees. The permit said an arborist had to be on site for excavation and barrier checks. One illegal root cut, one missing fence, and the job stops — a council notice, a fine, and a tree that fails two summers later.
We stood the hold-points. Hand and hydro-vac excavation inside the TPZ was watched. Fencing was inspected before each new stage. Root encounters were written down the same day, with the treatment the builder had to do before work continued.
The program finished without a stop-work notice. The retained trees were still standing when the machines left.
