Supervised trenching and hydro-vac excavation that protects tree roots.
Non-destructive digging (NDD) oversight is arborist supervision of trenching and hydro-vac excavation adjacent to root plates. Instead of a bucket or blade cutting unseen roots, soil is cleared with air or water so structural and feeder roots can be seen, protected, or pruned correctly.
A single trench through a Structural Root Zone can destabilise a tree, void a permit condition, and stop a job. Civil contractors and plumbers working near protected trees need an arborist on the trench — not a report written after the damage is done.
